Profile Category: Birth Doula
Supporting mothers through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum is more than a job to me — it’s been a calling on my heart for as long as I can remember. Ever since I witnessed my little sister’s birth at the age of 12, I knew I wanted to be part of the birthing world. While I once thought I’d pursue a career as an OBGYN, I realized that what I truly wanted was to support women in a more personal and connected way. Becoming a doula allowed me to do just that — to walk alongside mothers, to listen, to encourage, and to be present with them in one of the most vulnerable and transformative seasons of their lives.
Before becoming a doula, I worked as a Cardiac Medical Assistant in a private practice in Georgia, where I supported patients with everything from EKGs to reading caths and echocardiograms. I often worked with pregnant women — some with heart conditions or gestational diabetes — and I quickly noticed how many came in anxious or overwhelmed. That experience taught me to tune in closely to a person’s emotional cues, to offer compassion and calm, and to make sure every woman I worked with felt seen and supported. While I don’t offer medical care in my role as a doula, I bring that same attention and empathy into every birth space I enter.
I was born in Atlanta, GA and moved to the West Coast when I was 12. After years of moving back and forth across the country, I’ve recently settled in Stockton, CA with my amazing husband. We’re dreaming of a big family one day, and in the meantime, I travel between Stockton and Sacramento for my doula work. I love getting to know families of all kinds and helping them feel empowered and informed during pregnancy and birth.
Outside of birth work, I’m someone who thrives on creativity and connection. Whether I’m diving into a new art project, exploring the outdoors, or getting immersed in a good video game or a horror movie, I’m always drawn to storytelling and the beauty in life’s transitions. Lately, I’ve been obsessed with Attack on Titan — the character development and emotional depth are unmatched, and I’ll recommend it to anyone, anime fan or not.
At my core, I believe birth is sacred. Every family deserves a calm, confident, and supportive presence — someone who will listen, advocate, and honor your unique journey. That’s the kind of doula I strive to be.
