How long does it take to become a doula?

At International Doula Institute, you can go-at-your-own-pace program. By this, we mean you can take as quickly as you like or take as long as you’d like.  Some doulas choose to go through the program very quickly, perhaps you have two weeks of free time to devote to the training and you can get it done in those two weeks. While other students have a full time job or are stay at home moms will very full plates and chose to do the training part time, perhaps after nap time or bedtime or when you get home from your regular job. If you do the program that way, it will likely take about 6-12 weeks to complete. The entire program for each certification, birth or postpartum, is 9 sections each, with between two and six modules in each of the modules there between 2-10 steps to complete.
