At the International Doula Institute, we recognize the importance of training and certifying with a doula company that aligns with your values. We also recognize that everyone deserves to train in a space where they feel comfortable, included, and valued.
We recognize the changing of the board at DONA has created challenges for many DONA-trained and certified doulas. If you are a DONA certified or trained doula, we want to assist you in your work by offering a discount for certification. We thoroughly recognize that certification may not be required for all birth workers, and we recognize the role of traditional birth workers. However, we also know many value certifying or are required to maintain certification to work with certain agencies, organizations, insurance companies, etc.
For this reason, we are committed to helping anyone who no longer aligns with DONA in obtaining certification.
Our school’s unique design means we can easily accept a student and certified doulas’ feedback to better our program, ensure representation, and replace content that does not serve our diverse student base. Our curriculum is constantly evolving with up-to-date evidence-based information as well as inclusive content.
Our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) course is an example of our commitment to inclusivity. All topics covered, from birthing as a BIPOC person to parenting with a disability, and growing a family as a queer parent(s), are taught from a first-hand perspective by someone identifying as such.
For this reason, knowing the importance of aligning with your certification organization and the financial challenge of an abrupt change, we are offering 50% off our doula training and DEI course to any who have trained with DONA. Use the code PAYITFORWARD for this discount.
At International Doula Institute, you can register for just one program(such as just Birth Doula) or the complete program!
We are excited to partner with you as doulas continue to make changes in the birthing community. As always, we welcome feedback on how we can best serve birth workers and growing families.
