Profile Categories: Birth Doula, Breastfeeding Counselor, and Postpartum Doula
I’m Alicia Hurtt, a mother of four who knows firsthand the challenges and emotions of navigating infertility. My journey was often lonely, but it inspired me to create a supportive community for women through my nonprofit, I See My Baby Inc. As a doula and advocate, I’m committed to walking alongside other women, ensuring they don’t have to face their paths alone.
My experience as a mom, nurturing and supporting friends and family through their own births, has naturally led me to this work. I’ve also spent years working in education, supporting students from Pre-K to high school in Washington, DC, and Maryland. These experiences have given me the patience, understanding, and advocacy skills that I bring into my role as a doula.
I believe in building connections and creating a safe space for all my clients. Outside of work, I love relaxing with my family, singing, and writing books and poetry. When I need a good laugh or some downtime, I’ll turn on a Lifetime movie or a comedy.
I currently live in Bainbridge, GA but grew up in Landover, Maryland, I’ve experienced poverty, the challenges of growing up in a second-generation immigrant household within an urban setting, and navigating self-identity and I’ve carried those experiences with me, shaping the way I connect with the families I serve today.
