Profile Categories: Birth Doula, Breastfeeding Counselor, Childbirth Educator, and Postpartum Doula
Hi, I’m Ashley Robinson. I became a doula because I truly believe in the power of support during life’s most tender and transformative moments. I’ve always felt called to give back to my community, and being a doula allows me to help families start their journeys with strength, care, and connection. I believe that what happens in pregnancy and birth can ripple through someone’s whole life, and I want to be part of building that strong, loving foundation.
My path to doula work has been anything but traditional. I am pursuing a masters in Computer Science and currently work in IT. But that background has given me skills that serve me well in this space: staying calm under pressure, problem-solving, and clear, compassionate communication. I also work as a birth assistant at my local birthing center, and I hope to eventually merge my tech knowledge with birth work to create tools that make support more accessible for all families.
I live in Houston, Texas with my husband, our three amazing kids, and my wonderful mother-in-law. I’ve moved quite a bit in my life, from Baltimore to Japan, Hawaii, North Carolina, Las Vegas, and now Texas, and each place has shaped my perspective and deepened my appreciation for all kinds of families and experiences.
When I’m not working, I love gaming (cozy games are my jam, I’m currently playing Crime Scene Cleaner), gardening, and just enjoying life with my family. I also share my home with a lively little crew: two cats (Shawshank and Crookshanks), three puppy dogs (Sadie, Rosie, and Appa), and I’ll always hold space in my heart for Crackers, my African Grey Parrot who lived a life over 40 years.
I bring warmth, calm, and a deep sense of care into every birth space I enter, and I’m honored to walk alongside growing families during such an important time in their lives.
