Profile Category: Postpartum Doula
Hi, I’m Carolina Flaxman, a passionate and dedicated doula based in Marin County, just outside San Francisco. My journey into becoming a doula was inspired by my own experience as a mother, which sparked a desire to share the joy of new motherhood and support families through this beautiful process.
Before stepping into this role, I spent years as a teacher and a full-time nanny. I also hold a college degree in education, which has enriched my understanding of the various stages of human development and the importance of nurturing support.
Volunteering at my church is something I hold dear, as it fulfills my need to be part of a community that shares my beliefs. The sense of belonging and the connections I’ve made there are incredibly meaningful to me.
Home for me is where I live with my daughter and our beloved rescue dog, Steve, who I adopted five years ago. Growing up in Brazil, I was always fascinated with American culture, and moving to the United States has only deepened my love for this country.
When I’m not working, you’ll find me either at the gym or at church. Physical fitness and connecting with my church friends are my favorite ways to unwind. And when it comes to some downtime at home, my go-to TV show is Friends – there’s something comforting about revisiting the adventures of Ross, Rachel, and the gang.
As a doula, my goal is to bring kindness, care, and consideration to every family I work with. I believe that my background, combined with my compassionate nature, allows me to offer invaluable support to new parents, making their transition into parenthood as smooth and joyful as possible.
