Jaiden Canteen, Full Spectrum Doula

I’ve been passionate about healthcare since childhood, always driven by a desire to help others. My interest in birth work began during college when I took a course called The Sexuality of Childbirth, which explored birth through a feminist lens, comparing medical and midwifery models. It opened my eyes to how childbirth can be a transformative, even pleasurable experience, and it inspired me to take on a role that supports women in having positive transitions to motherhood. With a background in psychology and early childhood development and years of experience as a preschool teacher and nanny, I’ve developed strong communication, observation, and emotional support skills that enhance my work as a doula. Now, I live in the DC metro area with my partner, and in my free time, I love hiking, outdoor adventures, and reading.
