Jeanene Ruska, Birthing Doula

Hi, I am Jeane, I am a birthing doula. I chose to become a doula because of my passion for helping others and providing education and resources to our birthing moms and their partners. As we build our relationship I will bring my problem-solving skills, to help you identify the right decision for you. My leadership skills will allow me to take charge of any situation you need assistance in, and ensure your goals and priorities are at the forefront. My ability to pivot and shift in any circumstance will allow me to empower you for the best birthing outcome possible, using my out-of-the-box thinking to meet your needs if required. My ability to manage conflict and differences of opinion will have me as your number one cheerleader encouraging you through the birthing process.
Currently, I do not volunteer regularly, however, during the holiday season, I give back to my community by helping those in need. In the past, I was humanitarian aid, working with Doctors Across Boarder in South Africa and Bangladesh, helping provide care and comfort to orphaned children and women who deliver babies in rural areas.
I live in the Tampa Bay, FL area, with my little Yorkie and lovebird. I moved to Florida over 20 years ago, after visiting on a Spring Break trip and never looked back. I have two grown children and 6 grandchildren, all under the age of 9.
When I am not working, you can find me gardening, playing my piano, baking, or listening to self-care books. I do find time to incorporate self-care into my daily routine, by either working out in my home gym, taking a kickboxing class or just enjoying a walk-in nature.
