Profile Categories: Birth Doula, Childbirth Educator, and Postpartum Doula
My name is Jen Kalawur, and I became a doula because I believe every birthing person deserves to feel safe, grounded, and supported during one of life’s most sacred transitions. My goal is to be a calming presence in the room—a steady hand and reassuring voice as you move through labor with confidence and care.
I have brought over two decades of experience in mind-body healing practices to my doula work. As a trauma-informed yoga teacher, intuitive energy practitioner, and personal transitions coach, I support clients holistically—physically, emotionally, and energetically. These skills help me read the room, sense subtle shifts, and hold space with compassion and clarity.
I’m also deeply committed to community care. I’ve volunteered with NJ Battered Women Services, an organization that has helped members of my own family. I understand that birth doesn’t happen in a vacuum, it’s shaped by each person’s history, safety, and sense of agency. My role is to honor that truth and walk beside you without judgment.
I live in Denville, New Jersey with my husband and have deep roots in the area, having grown up in nearby Parsippany. When I’m not attending births or supporting families, you can find me hiking local trails, practicing qigong, diving into spiritual growth books, or relaxing with my favorite home renovation shows.
As your doula, I’ll meet you with deep respect, grounded wisdom, and an open heart. You don’t have to do this alone, I’ve got you.No Records Found
