Kathryn Penderghast Certified Birth Doula

I’ve always been fascinated with birth, since I was little. While working in labor and delivery a few years ago, I noticed a common scenario: a woman in labor, left alone to fend for herself while her nurse sits at a nurses station watching her contractions on a screen popping in every few hours to check her progress. Leaving a woman alone at her most vulnerable left me wondering how I can make a difference. That’s when I learned more about doulas and decided that was the path I wanted to take.
I live with my fiance, Jack, and his grandparents.
We have 2 boy cats, Syd and Bax. Syd is a 3 year old domestic long hair and Bax is a 1 year old brown tabby.
I live in South Jordan, but grew up in Sandy. I was born in California and my entire extended family still lives there.
When I’m not working I am usually home hanging out with my cats and cooking up yummy meals! Some of my hobbies include singing, baking, playing the guitar and playing video games with my friends!
My favorite TV show is Bob’s Burgers. It’s such a comfort show!
