Profile Categories: Birth Doula and Childbirth Educator
I was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas,. My journey into the world of childbirth education and doula work began with the birth of my first son at a North Fort Worth Birthing Center. With my husband, doula and midwife by my side, I navigated the challenges of back labor. In those intense moments is when I realized the profound impact a doula can have. My doula’s guidance and support were invaluable, and the moment I held my son for the first time was pure euphoria.
My passion for becoming a doula was sparked when my sister, who was only a few months behind me in her pregnancy, sought an unmedicated birth experience. I eagerly stepped in to help, researching comfort measures, learning techniques, and even using a rebozo at her labor. Being part of such an intimate moment in her life was an honor, and it deepened my appreciation for the role of a doula.
Driven by this experience, I pursued a childbirth education certification and began teaching, helping families understand the birthing process and empowering them through knowledge. Friends and family who attended my classes often asked me to act as their “doula,” and it was through these experiences that I realized I could turn my passion into a career. I now provide childbirth education and am working on postpartum and lactation training to support my clients as fully as possible.
On a more personal note, I live in Haltom City with my incredible husband, our two beautiful boys, and our dog, Dexter. I have a zest for life that extends beyond my work—I love live music, traveling, and hiking. My hobbies are as varied as they come, from hula hooping, to crystal mining, and making dream catchers. I’m passionate about sharing these adventures with my kids and can’t wait to see what they’ll grow passionate about as they get older.
