Howdy, I’m Rachel! I grew up in the south, but have lived in Spokane Washington since 2017. I don’t have a southern accent, but a bit of one comes out when I get worked up or sassy! My whole life I have been fascinated with pregnancy and birth. I have always seen it as a beautifully spiritual experience. I always wanted 8 kids, but then my husband and I learned of our fertility problems. After years of treatment, we got our 2 miracle babies, but I wasn’t ready to leave the birth space. Throughout my life, I’ve considered everything I could find to get involved. I even considered being a surrogate! Enter our fertility problems- so that’s not gonna work. I thought about going to nursing school, but that didn’t feel right. Eventually I got a job as a birth and newborn photographer in a hospital, which made my love for the field even stronger! When I learned about birth doulas, I knew it was my calling! I am now living my dream of being a stay at home mom to my babies, a wife to my best friend, and getting to work in the birth space in an amazingly intimate way. I realize that birth is such a vulnerable experience, and it is an honor just to be considered to support you.
